12 × 12 print
Sail Away is a surreal reimagining of the view from my dock at sunset. I’ve pushed the reality of this scene into a dream state, rendering every plank in every color I can imagine to match the intensity of the sky.
What distinguishes my work is a sophisticated composition that serves as the foundation for everything I create. I don’t use lines and shapes to fill space; I use them to choreograph your experience, leading your eye through a deliberate path of forms until you land on the color. Woven into this dreamscape is a dolphin, buildings, and a sailboat cut from notebook paper. My signature black-and-white stripes show up in the design—a tribute to my brother, a brilliant pianist whose musical spirit lives on in my work.
